Inconel Perforated Metal

Inconel Perforated Metal

Inconel perforated metal, also known as a super alloy, is made from high-strength nickel-chromium alloy in grades such as Inconel 600, Inconel 601, and Inconel 625. Known for its exceptional strength and resistance to extreme environments, it excels in corrosion and oxidation resistance, making it perfect for industries such as petrochemical, aerospace, and nuclear reactors. This metal maintains its integrity under high temperatures and withstands thermal shock and stress, offering unmatched durability and resilience.

We manufacture, custom punch, and fabricate Inconel perforated metal products. Based in Houston, we offer in-house custom punching and finishing services such as forming, welding, notching, and more.

Inconel 600 Perforated Metal – Nickel-chromium-iron alloy

Inconel 600 perforated metal is a common grade with a wide range of uses, 600 offers corrosion resistance and workability.

  • Composition: Primarily composed of nickel and chromium, with additional iron content.
  • Properties: Known for its excellent resistance to corrosion and oxidation at high temperatures. It provides good mechanical properties and is non-magnetic.
  • Heat Resistance: Capable of withstanding extreme heat, making it ideal for furnace components and heat exchangers.
  • Applications: Widely used in chemical and food processing industries, nuclear reactors, and aerospace applications due to its stability in high-temperature and corrosive environments.

Industries and Applications

  • Chemical processing
  • Food processing
  • Nuclear
  • Aerospace
  • Heat exchangers
  • Furnace components
  • Reactor vessels
  • Jet engine components

Properties: Inconel 600 is prized for its excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance at high temperatures and its good mechanical properties, making it suitable for these demanding applications. Click here to see Alloy Inconel 600 chemistry and physical data

Inconel 601 Perforated Metal – Nickel-chromium-iron alloy

Inconel 601 perforated metal will withstand high-temperature situations. This alloy may be more of an investment, but it outperforms 600 in oxidation resistance.

  • Composition: Similar to Inconel 600 but with added aluminum, enhancing its oxidation resistance.
  • Properties: Offers superior oxidation resistance, particularly in high-temperature environments, due to the aluminum content which forms a protective oxide layer.
  • Heat Resistance: Performs exceptionally well in thermal cycling environments, maintaining its integrity over prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
  • Applications: Commonly used in thermal processing equipment, industrial furnaces, and gas turbine components because of its ability to maintain strength and resistance to oxidation.

Industries and Applications

  • Thermal Processing
  • Industrial Furnaces
  • Power Generation
  • Gas Turbines
  • Combustion chambers
  • Heat treatment baskets
  • Furnace muffles
  • Burner nozzles

Properties: With its enhanced oxidation resistance due to aluminum content, Inconel 601 is ideal for high-performance thermal cycling applications.

Inconel 625 Perforated Metal – Nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy

Inconel 625 perforated metal has added molybdenum to the alloy, creating a product that holds up well to saltwater applications and other hostile environments.

  • Composition: Contains higher levels of molybdenum and niobium alongside nickel and chromium.
  • Properties: Exhibits outstanding fatigue strength and stress-corrosion cracking resistance. It retains its toughness and strength at cryogenic temperatures.
  • Heat Resistance: While not as focused on oxidation resistance as 601, it maintains excellent performance under a range of thermal conditions.
  • Applications: Ideal for aerospace and marine industries, particularly for engine components, exhaust systems, and oil and gas applications, owing to its high tensile strength and resistance to severe environments.

Industries and Applications

  • Aerospace
  • Marine
  • Oil and Gas
  • Chemical process
  • Exhaust systems
  • Engine thrust-reverser systems
  • Submarine fittings
  • Chemical processing equipment

Properties: Known for its high tensile strength, fatigue resistance, and corrosion resistance, Inconel 625 excels in harsh environments, making it suitable for aerospace and marine applications. Click here to see Alloy Inconel 625 chemistry and physical data

Each of the alloys uses a similar blend of nickel, chromium, and iron to provide competitive mechanical properties for fabrication in many industries.

Inconel Perforated Metal Hole Patterns

  • Round Hole Inconel Perforated Metal: Round holes staggered or 60-degree pattern is standard; the variations can be 45-degree and straight line patterns.
  • Square Hole Inconel Perforated Metal: Square holes are available in staggered or straight-line patterns.
  • Hexagonal Hole Inconel Perforated Metal:
  • Slotted Hole Inconel Perforated Metal: Slotted holes can be side staggered, end staggered, or straight lines. Slotted perforations are round-end slots. For square end slots, please specify.
  • Ornamental and decorative patterns are available but not usually needed for Inconel Alloys.
  • Custom Punched Inconel Metal: Each of the patterns above are available to be custom punched and fabricated to meet your needs.
