Grate-Fast Fastener In Stock!!
Grate-Fast enables rapid and secure connection of open grate flooring to steel sections. Grating can be secured by one man only, working from above, without the need to drill the steel, or weld on site.

The product consists of a pre-assembled 'top-hat' bracket, socket head capscrew and body casting and provides the additional benefit of increased clamping force over lower quality clips. This extra clamping ability has helped the Grate-Fast in achieving Lloyds Register Type Approval for Vibration applications.

Grate-Fast is suitable for a wide variety of grating widths and the stepped tail of the body casting enables it to fit a range of beam flange thicknesses also.

  • 3/8" socket head cap screw galvanized. Uses 5/16" Hex Wrench.

  • Profiled nose  to fit on flat or sloping beam flanges.

  • 3/8" thread engagement to enable full loading for vibration resistance.

  • cast malleable iron body galvanized.

  • 13 gauge galvanized top-hat bracket designed to fit bearing bar gauges 1/4", 3/16" and 1/8" fixed at 1 3/16" centers.

  •  2 1/4" screw length to accommodate a wide range of  bearing bar depths*.

  • stepped tail fits beam flanges from 1/8" to 3/4".

 

* GRATE-FAST 3D AVAILABLE - Grate-Fast is available from stock with a 31/4" long screw for applications with greater depth of grating. Longer screws are available on special order.

GRATE-FAST INSTALLATION IS FASTER: Grate-Fast is a new product that substitutes for labor intensive methods. It improves the engineering integrity of the fastening process while reducing application costs.

GRATE-FAST IS BETTER: It is secure, adjustable, removable and can be relocated. The clamp remains horizontal throughout the assembly sequence. It is sturdy and fits all common sizes of beams and grating. All three component parts are galvanized.

GRATE-FAST IS ECONOMICAL: It requires only one worker. It is a standard pre-assembled product. It needs no power tools or welding equipment.

Step 1 - Position the pre-assembled Grate-Fast with the body between the grating bars and the nose pointing towards the steelwork. The arrows on the top hat bracket should also be pointing towards the supporting steelwork and the bracket itself resting on the bearing bars. Step 2 - Slide the Grate-Fast towards the steelwork until the nose fits under the beam flange. Where necessary adjust the body/screw to the approximate flange thickness/grating depth. Step 3 - Tighten the capscrew using the hexagon key. The Grate-Fast body casting will automatically rotate until it locks under the bearing bar, with the nose under the flange. Continue tightening to the recommended torque. Grate-Fast is now securely in position.
